take a breath
one more
sink into
that sacred place
and stop
remember u have
moved oceans
to reach this peak
called home
u have defied
thousands of ups and downs
to be at this type of peace
and i believe
if u cant quite yet
or in this moment ur lost
i believe in your
present, past and future.
and i can have faith for u
if u just grant urself a little grace
and remember ur power
is deeply rooted
in the ground just under ur feet.

I specialize in teaching how to adapt and rewrite classical texts through the context of our lives.
What would it look like if every adaptation of Shakespeare was reworked to center peoples’ voices that have been silenced, using his works to break open and heal our wounds?
I teach workshops on “Personalizing the Bard,” where I encourage folks to infuse their own life story with Shakespeare’s work. Recently I have taught for Seattle Children’s Theatre, From the Ground Up, Oregon Shakespeare Festival as well as the University of Puget Sound and Seattle University. I am also a private acting coach, where I work with students on classical audition pieces for BFA/Graduate programs. I have experience as a private tutor for high school English and Spanish.
